It will be a nostalgic moment for BJP chief and Union Health Minister J P Nadda when he attends the centenary celebrations of Patna Medical College on February 25. The event will be inaugurated by President Droupadi Murmu. Nadda was born in the hospital. He was a regular visitor to the medical college later as he would go to pick his three doctor sisters, who practised at the PMC at different points of time, it is learnt. This will also be an opportunity for him to meet many of his childhood friends, some travelling from different parts of the world to attend the event.

Kumbh Corner

The Department of Social Justice and Empowerment has set up a pavilion at the Maha Kumbh. The department has asked secretaries to visit the pavilion — ‘Samanta, Sashaktikaran aur Samajik Nyay ka Mahakumbh’ — which is showcasing the department’s various schemes, programmes and initiatives through digital interactions. It has also established an on-site distribution of assistive devices for senior citizens and handloom and handicrafts stalls of artisans belonging to SCs and OBCs. Also, to celebrate the 75th year of the Constitution, the department is organising quiz contests, talks and stage performances.

Constituency Connect

Union Cabinet Minister Bhupender Yadav, who became a Lok Sabha MP for the first time in 2024, has been devoting time in his Alwar constituency to promote cultural and youth-related activities. After starting an e-library project in his constituency last year, Yadav interacted with young members of his constituency at the Alwar Sansad Khel Utsav last week where he also flagged off the Alwar Tiger Marathon.
