Punjab police is probing into the allegation that a woman head constable was molested by her superior in his office,officials said in Amritsar on Thursday.
The probe was ordered by the DIG (border range) after the constable approached her with the complaint against her superior,a deputy superintendent of police,officials said.
The alleged incident took place 10 days ago but the enquiry is on,informed SSP Kunwar Vijay Partap Singh.
According to the complainant,the accused DSP called the head constable to his chamber and made sexual advances towards her,which she refused and slapped him when he tried to grab her,the official said.
He said that on hearing the allegation the DIG immediately summoned the DSP,who admitted his mistake,the SSP said. However,an enquiry has been constituted and probe is underway,he said.
