Police have registered a case against Raj Thackeray-led MNS legislator Ram Kadam for allegedly putting up banners in his constituency here asking people to gather in large numbers to ransack a hospital.
“We have registered a case against Ram Kadam under IPC Sections 117 (abetting commission of an offence by public) and 107 (abetment of a thing),” DCP (Zone VII) Sanjay Shintre said today.
Kadam is the MLA from Ghatkopar (West).
According to the police,Kadam allegedly put up banners across Ghatkopar that asked people to come forward and ransack the Rajawadi Hospital that allegedly meted out poor quality treatment to victims of a road accident that took place in the area on Friday last.
Ten persons,including a five-year-old girl,suffered injures after being hit by a car.
Kadam had alleged that when the injured were rushed to the hospital,they were not given proper treatment.
“It is against law to ask people to ransack any premise. After checking the contents of the banner we registered a case,” said an officer who requested anonymity.
