Rabri’s anticipatory bail rejected

A Bihar court rejected an anticipatory bail petition of Rabri Devi in a case accusing her of uttering uncharitable remarks against Nitish Kumar.

A Bihar court on Saturday rejected an anticipatory bail petition of Rabri Devi, the leader of the Opposition in the state assembly,in a case accusing her of uttering uncharitable remarks against Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and JDU president during the Lok Sabha poll campaign.

District Judge Sasikant Singh rejected her petition stating that the former chief minister could obtain bail by surrendering before the court.

During a Lok Sabha election campaign in Saran on March,Rabri had allegedly made abusive remarks against Kumar and Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh.

The case was filed by the then Amnaur Block Development Officer Sandeep Sekhar Priyadarshi in April on charge of Model Code of Conduct violation.
