Korean national arrested for running prostitution racket

Park Ju Deiwas arrested along with eight Indian women hailing from north-eastern states.

A Korean national has been arrested for running a prostitution racket in Kanchipuram under the guise of a hotel,police said on Friday.

Park Ju Dei,the Korean national,was arrested on Wednesday at Nemili near Sriperumbudur along with eight Indian women hailing from north-eastern states,they said.

Seven high-profile Korean business executives were also rounded up when authorities raided the hotel,but were let off with a warning.

Sriperumbudur DSP Balasubramaniyam said Ju Dei had many top ranking executives of various Korean firms among his clientele.

For the past two years,Ju Dei had been running the racket. Five persons working for him as drivers and office employees were also rounded up during the raid,police said.

The building looked like a hotel-cum-bar and beyond the first floor,public entry was not allowed. It was also equipped with a sophisticated mini cinema hall.

The DGP said the arrested women were sent to welfare homes in Chennai,pending enquiry.

Ju Dei was booked under the Immoral Trafficking and Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act,he added.
