Cops rescue woman kept in ‘captivity’

A 28-year-old girl,Jaswinder Kaur,was brought to PGI's emergency wing on Wednesday afternoon.

A 28-year-old girl,Jaswinder Kaur,was brought to PGI’s emergency wing on Wednesday afternoon. Mohali Police officials,who got the girl to the hospital,said the girl was writhing in pain. Doctors have kept her under observation,to ascertain if she had undergone any mental or physical torture.

Officials added that the girl was allegedly kept in captivity by her parents at their residence in Mohali,as she was mentally unstable.

The girl was rescued after a complaint was lodged by an NGO with the police. However,the family members claimed that the girl was mentally unstable and was undergoing treatment for the past seven years.
