Bajrangi seeks treatment at AIIMS for bullet pain

A Delhi court issued a notice to a city hospital on a plea by inter-state gangster Munna Bajrangi seeking treatment at the premier AIIMS for the pain caused by a bullet lodged in his body.

Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Kaveri Baweja sought a reply from Deen Dayal Upadhyay hospital,where he was being treated till now.

Bajrangi,whose real name is Prem Prakash Singh,was arrested from Mumbai by a joint team of the Delhi Police andUttar Pradesh Police on October 29 on charges of making an extortion demand from a city businessman.

In an application,the accused,who has also been booked under the stringent MCOCA for allegedly running an organized criminal gang,submitted he was feeling severe pain as a bullet was lodged in his body for quite some time.

Even though he was being treated at DDU Hospital,he was not getting the desired relief and there has been no improvement in his condition,his counsel submitted.

He also alleged the hospital,where the accused was referred to by the jail authorities,was not fully equipped.

The authorities of Tihar Jail here,where Bajrangi is lodged,said he had twice refused admission to the hospital.

Taking into consideration the submissions,the court asked the Medical Superintendent DDU hospital to explain whether the hospital could provide adequate treatment to the accused.
