3 children found dead at home, mother critical in Telangana’s Sangareddy district

Three children were found dead at a home in Telangana’s Sangareddy district, and their mother is battling for her life at a private hospital, the police said Friday.

The Sangareddy district police said they have registered a case of suspicious death and launched an investigation. All angles are being investigated before the police conclude what caused the incident.

The bodies of the children — aged 12, 10, and 8 — were found in a house in the Raghavendra Colony under Ameenpur Municipality on the outskirts of Hyderabad. According to the local police, they received a call from the hospital at around 2.30 am Friday.

“The three children and their mother were brought to the hospital by the neighbours. The woman’s husband was also there. We do not know what exactly happened. At this moment, we would not say they were poisoned. We will wait for the post-mortem examination report,” a senior police officer from the Sangareddy district told indianexpress.com.

The woman lived with her husband and three children. According to reports, the family was deeply entangled in debt. The woman reportedly fed her children curd rice laced with poison before poisoning herself. Her husband was not at home at the time, and found his wife and children unconscious at home when he came back, according to the reports.
