Several industrialists from across the country attended the Bastar Investor Connect programme in Chhattisgarh’s Bastar district on Thursday, and the state received investment proposals exceeding `967 crore, a government official said.
The investment proposals have the potential to create employment for over 2,100 people, the official said.
To ensure a vibrant atmosphere for business, Chhattisgarh has outlined a comprehensive development plan worth Rs 52,000 crore for Bastar and its surrounding Maoist-affected regions. “These initiatives aim to drive transformative change across key sectors such as mining, healthcare, education, agriculture, and tourism,” said an official.
Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Deo Sai said at the event, “Bastar is entering a golden era of investment. Our government has resolved to completely wipe out the traces of Maoism by March 2026 and transform Bastar into the central axis of a developed Chhattisgarh. With abundant resources, strong infrastructure, and the most attractive incentives, Bastar is ready to roll out the red carpet for investors.”
