    Shubman Gill made India’s ODI captain

    In a major development in the field of sports, India Test captain Shubman Gill was announced the team's new ODI captain. Gill has replaced Rohit Sharma in the role just months after he took over as the Test captain from the 38-year-old. Gill also attended the selection meeting on Saturday. Sharma and former captain Virat Kohli have both been named in India’s squad for the upcoming ODI series against Australia.     Ultranationalist Abe protégé set to be Japan’s first woman PM

    Scripting history in Japan, Liberal Democratic Party (LDP)'s Sanae Takaichi was elected as its new leader on Saturday. She is on course to become the country's first woman prime minister. The conservative Takaichi defeated the centrist Shinjiro Koizumi in an internal party vote during a runoff election at the LDP headquarters in Tokyo.     Cough syrup linked to child deaths banned in Madhya Pradesh

    After a poisonous substance linked to child deaths was allegedly found in a cough syrup, the Madhya Pradesh government has banned its sale and distribution. The Office of the Controller, Food and Drugs Administration, Madhya Pradesh, issued an order on Friday to all drugs inspectors across the state in connection with Coldrif Syrup manufactured by Sresan Pharmaceutical, after lab tests conducted in Tamil Nadu allegedly revealed shocking findings about the cough syrup.     Google Gemini may get a new look with a scrollable Instagram-like feed
