New e-Insurance Rules 2024 (April 01): The National Pension System (NPS) has recently updated its login process, effective from April 1, 2024. The Central Record-Keeping Agency (CRA) system of NPS has introduced a new security measure requiring users to undergo Aadhaar-based two-factor authentication in addition to the traditional user ID and password login method.
This change was mandated by the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) to enhance security and protect the interests of NPS subscribers and stakeholders.
The two-factor Aadhaar authentication system adds an extra layer of security by verifying a fingerprint, thereby thwarting potential spoofing attempts and ensuring safer transactions within the NPS platform.
Moreover, under the new login rule, NPS CRA will automatically lock an account if an incorrect password is entered five times consecutively. In such cases, users can reset their password by answering a secret question. If the secret question cannot be recalled, users must request a reissue of the I-Pin for account access.
Step 1: Visit the NPS website at: https://enps.nsdl.com/eNPS/NationalPensionSystem.html
Step 2: Navigate to ‘Login with PRAIN/IPIN’ and select the PRAIN/IPIN tab: https://cra-nsdl.com/CRA/
Step 3: Enter your user ID and password in the new window that appears.
Step 4: Complete the Captcha verification, and proceed to the Aadhaar authentication step.
Step 5: An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number for verification.
Step 6: Enter the OTP to gain access to your NPS account securely and efficiently.
