Fennel seeds have traditionally been used as part of our diet ritual for their medicinal and healing properties. The seeds have been had as an ingredient in our cooking, as tea, extracts, in infused water or simply chewed up after a meal. But soaked fennel seeds or fennel infused water has a maximum effect on your body, boosts your metabolism and is best had in the morning. Here are seven reasons why you should begin your day with fennel seed water.

2) Fennel seeds contain certain compounds that possess anti-inflammatory properties. Regular consumption of fennel seeds water may help reduce inflammation in the body, which can be beneficial for individuals with inflammatory conditions or chronic diseases influenced by inflammation. Nitrites in fennel seeds play an important role in the cardiovascular system as they dilate blood vessels of the heart, reduce the stress on them, relax them and in the process improve blood flow to the heart muscle. Fennel also helps in angiogenesis or the formation of new blood vessels from pre-existing ones. The potassium content of fennel seeds helps maintain blood pressure.

By adding fennel seed water into your morning routine, you may support healthy weight management goals. Having fennel water or tea between big meals may take care of your urge to snack indiscriminately, keep your food intake in check, act as an appetite suppressant and help in weight management. The seed-soaked water also works as a diuretic and improves metabolism, something which is an asset in your weight loss journey.

6) The soluble fibres of fennel seeds may help regulate blood sugar spikes and improve blood sugar levels. Fennel seeds are rich in beta-carotene, another antioxidant that may help lower cholesterol levels in patients with Type 2 diabetes.
