‘Kim Sae Ron knew Kim Soo Hyun’s girlfriend’: YouTuber claims actor was in a serious relationship, releases new evidence

Youtuber claims Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron were dating others

Despite being legally banned from speaking about Kim Sae Ron online and facing a defamation lawsuit, YouTuber Lee Jin Ho released another 12-minute video about her, claiming he has his “life and reputation” on the line to get to the truth. In the video titled “Shocking Exclusive,” he alleged that both the Bloodhounds star and actor Kim Soo Hyun were in other relationships during the time Sae Ron claimed they were dating. He also insisted that he now has “decisive evidence” proving the two were never romantically involved when Kim Sae Ron was a minor.

“A lot of people still believe Kim Soo Hyun was dating her when she was underage. It’s time to clear this up,” he said (Translated via Koreaboo). “Since 2016, I’ve tracked down who she actually dated—from normal people and celebrities to athletes and even her husband in the U.S.”

He released a video that’s a credibility mess from the very start —blurry, dizzy visuals and nothing verifiable. But Lee Jin Ho claims he personally verified the stories through witnesses and people close to the situation. He says that in 2016, Kim Sae Ron was dating a different celebrity, not Kim Soo Hyun. While she told friends she was in a relationship, further investigation apparently revealed that wasn’t true either, at least not with one of the men she named. Some of the people involved even showed evidence that no relationship ever happened. “If I revealed those names without proof, it’d just turn into another witch hunt. Just like what happened with Kim Soo Hyun.”

Was Kim Soo Hyun in a serious relationship?

The YouTuber went on to share a FaceTime call log from 2018 showing that Kim Sae Ron tried reaching out to Kim Soo Hyun multiple times. The actor reportedly kept his distance because he was already in a serious relationship with someone else between 2016 and 2019, even during his military service. “His friends knew how serious it was. That ‘Chicken Stew’ video? He was still dating someone at that point,” Lee Jin Ho said. “And yes, Kim Sae Ron visited his house once during a long break he had from the military. They ordered food. That’s it. She knew he was in a relationship.” To prove his point, Lee even referenced Dispatch’s old comment that Kim Soo Hyun is one of the hardest celebrities to catch in a dating scandal. “He’s private. No public dating photos have ever come out. Even that video had his agency’s CEO with him—his family member. Not a date.”

He says there’s actual evidence showing Kim Soo Hyun’s long-term relationship began in 2016 and ended after he got discharged in mid-2019. According to Lee, Kim Sae Ron also had another partner around the same time. A video was included in the report, reportedly taken by one of Kim Sae Ron’s close friends in 2019. It shows her in Seoul holding hands with someone who is not Soo Hyun. The clip was reportedly filmed between Noryangjin and Eonju stations, and Lee says the file data confirms the date: May 27, 2019. “Some people might say holding hands isn’t proof, but the video clearly shows they were dating. Her friend filmed it because they were surprised by how public she was being.”

As for Kim Sae Ron’s past claim that she dated Kim Soo Hyun for six years starting in 2015,  Lee says that doesn’t line up with reality. He also called out a message she once sent, calling Kim Soo Hyun her “first and last love,” and said that, too, appears to be false. “In March 2024, she sent a photo saying it was from when she was 16 and dating Kim Soo Hyun. But we verified—digitally—that it was taken in 2019. She wasn’t a minor. She was 20.”
