What’s making things worse? The controversy has now gone global. International coverage is picking up steam, the internet is flooded with #CancelKimSooHyun hashtags, and nicknames like “K-Diddy” are making the rounds, linking him to the disgraced U.S. rapper caught in serious allegations. Korean netizens are now accusing the actor of “dragging the country’s name through the mud.”

On The Qoo, a popular South Korean forum, users pointed out a post where Kim Soo Hyun was referred to as “K-Diddy.” The post even featured a photo of the actor alongside a statement about his alleged relationship with Sae Ron (The authenticity of the image cannot be verified by IE.) Many noted how the scandal has gained more traction internationally, with one commenting, “There’s more outrage about this overseas than here in Korea.”

“Embarrassing,” one person wrote. Another added, “They’re tarnishing the name of a successful K-drama. What a disgrace to the country.” A third chimed in, “Oh my, the Puff Daddy scandal was seriously messy. It might be a bit of an extreme comparison, but I guess it shows how seriously they’re taking this.”

Kim Soo Hyun to continue filming G-Dragon’s Good Day

Kim Soo Hyun had a packed slate of projects lined up after the massive success of his Netflix hit Queen of Tears with Kim Ji Won. But that was all before his scandal with late actor Kim Sae Ron exploded. It was earlier reported that Soo Hyun might have to hit pause on his filming commitments.

However, an exclusive March 13 report by Tenasia suggests otherwise. According to the outlet, Soo Hyun’s appearance on G-Dragon’s upcoming music variety show Good Day is still on track. The production team also weighed in, saying, “After checking, we have confirmed that he did participate in the filming, but with minimal participation.” As for his next K-drama with Jo Bo Ah, an insider revealed that he’s currently filming Knock Off for Disney+, along with Good Day.
