When Life Gives You Tangerines

Park Bo Gum and IU’s mega hit Netflix series just made the cut for Baeksang Awards nominations, thanks to its release sneaking in right before the eligibility deadline. It’s now leading with nine nominations and is sitting comfortably with the highest IMDb rating of 9.3. The K-drama, a slice-of-life comfort watch, tells a beautiful tale of a couple from Jeju Island who endured multiple setbacks in life and still made it through together, watching countless springs side by side.

Ae Sun, who wanted to be a poet as a child, had to give up on her dream and take care of her sibling after their mother passed away at a very young age, leaving her behind with a stepfather. On the other hand, Gwan Sik, her neighbour, always had a soft spot for her. He kept showing up for her, quietly, constantly, right from their early days, and by the time they hit youth, they decided to get married. But life was never easy, and just like its title says, their love endures across time.
