Varun Tej and Lavanya Tripathi deny selling wedding film rights to streaming platform: ‘Speculations are completely baseless’

Newlyweds Varun Tej and Lavanya Tripathi have denied rumours suggesting they've made a deal to stream their wedding film on a digital platform.

Varun Tej and Lavanya Tripathi‘s beautiful wedding in Italy’s Tuscany has been the talk of the town for days now. Recently, it was speculated that the rights of the couple’s wedding film has been sold to Netflix for Rs 8 crore. Varun’s team has now issued a statement in this matter, refuting all such rumours.

The statement read, “The ongoing speculations around the OTT rights of Varun Tej and Lavanya Tripathi’s wedding are completely baseless and untrue. Requesting everyone not to believe in such rumours and spread them.”

Netflix had previously acquired the streaming rights for the wedding film of actor Nayanthara and filmmaker Vignesh Shivan, who married in June last year. The teaser of Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairy Tale was released in September last year. However, the delay in the release of their wedding special has lead to speculations that it is cancelled. Bollywood actors Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal will also release their wedding film under their banner Pushing Buttons Studio.

Varun Tej and Lavanya Tripathi returned to Hyderabad on Saturday after their wedding. The couple hosted a grand wedding reception on Sunday, which saw Naga Chaitanya, Adivi Sesh, Sundeep Kishan, Allu Sirish and Saina Nehwal among others in attendance.

Varun and Lavanya dated for several years but they never opened up about their relationship in public. The couple made the announcement only after they got engaged earlier this year.
