SS Rajamouli reacts as Anand Mahindra requests him to make movie on Indus Valley civilization: ‘Visited Pakistan… was denied permission to visit Mohenjo Daro’

Rajamouli was quick to react to his post as he wrote back that he indeed had once thought about making a feature based around the topic but was unable to do complete research as he was not allowed to visit Mohenjo Daro: “Yes sir… While shooting for Magadheera in Dholavira, I saw a tree so ancient that It turned into a fossil. Thought of a film on the rise and fall of Indus valley civilization, narrated by that tree!! Visited Pakistan few years later. Tried so hard to visit Mohenjo Daro. Sadly, was denied permission.”

While some fans of the director were happy with Mahindra’s request and wanted to see Rajamouli’s vision for Indus Valley come alive on screen, a few had other suggestions. One user wrote, “Sanjay Leela Bansali also could be a better choice for a movie like that. As his colour themes and all would be very classy. Mr. SS Rajamouli is very busy with his ongoing projects after RRR has broken records.” Another mentioned, “A good request/suggestion, kindly consider.” While yet another netizen reminded people that we already have a movie based on that era, writing, “Ashutosh Gowariker made Mohanjo Daro long back.”

Meanwhile, Rajamouli is preparing for his next project with Mahesh Babu.
