Samantha Ruth Prabhu opens on divorce with Naga Chaitanya, myositis and recent flops: ‘People go down for far less than what I endured’
In a recent interview, Samantha Ruth Prabhu opened up about how three worst thing in her life happened at the same time.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu has yet again shared about the suffering she underwent with divorce and her battle with myositis in a new interview with Harper’s Bazaar. The Tamil-Telugu actor made a bold claim that many people would have gone down for far less than what she endured for the last two years. The actress, while answering a question about her sharing the good and bad things about her life with the public, said that she doesn’t care if the lows of her life are shared with everyone.
For Samantha, the biggest problems in her life hit her one after the other with no respite. “When I hit an all-time low of, well, a failed marriage, and my health and work were getting affected, it was like a triple whammy; boom, boom, boom. You know, people go down for far less than what I endured for the last two years or so,” she told Harper’s Bazaar.
The Shakuntalam actor coped by reading about the hardships of other people.”It’s important to recognise that being a loved star in this nation is an incredible gift; so be responsible for it, be honest and real, and tell your story… I don’t care that my lows have been so public, I’m actually quite empowered by them. I know I am going to fight with all I have, and I hope that people who are in a similar situation, also have the strength to just keep fighting,” she added.
Samantha was married to Telugu actor Naga Chaitanya, the elder son of Nagarjuna. The couple met during the shoot of Ye Maaya Chesave and were dating for about seven years before tying the knot in 2017. However, due to reasons unknown, the two opted for divorce in 2021. Around the same time, Samantha also came out to the public about her auto-immune condition called myositis, which results in painful muscles across the body. Her recent films Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal, Shakuntalam, and Yashoda also failed to make a mark.
However, despite all odds, the actress has bounced back with a hit film Kushi with Vijay Deverakonda. She also bagged a role in Citadel (India), a spin-off of Priyanka Chopra’s American series by the same name. Samantha is currently on a break and travelling the world to heal from her triple whammy. Talking about the break, she said, “I think taking this break also proves a point to myself that I’m not looking for external validation. I’m really glad that I have made that switch and am prioritising experiencing life a little, living in the moment, and getting time to spend with people I love.”
