Northern Irish actor Ray Stevenson, who is popular in India for his role as the antagonist in RRR, passed away in Italy on Sunday. The demise of the actor shocked his friends and colleagues, who expressed their condolences on Twitter. From SS Rajamouli to James Gunn, many celebrities said it was shocking to see him go so soon. The RRR team also shared a picture of the actor from the film and wrote, “You will stay in our hearts forever, SIR SCOTT.”
In addition to that, the team also shared a picture of Stevenson pulling off a daredevil stunt for the movie when Sitramaraju (Ram Charan) plots the escape of Bheem (Jr NTR). The caption read, “He was 56 years old when we were shooting this difficult scene but he did not hesitate while performing this stunt. We will forever cherish having you on the sets of #RRR, Ray Stevenson. Gone too soon.”
Stevenson played the role of Governor Scott Buxton, a colonialist in India, who has no respect for the natives. Along with his wife, he takes away a tribal girl to the palace, which leads to Bheem planning a secret extraction mission.
Ray Stevenson has also acted in films such as Punisher: War Zone, King Arthur, Thor, and the TV series Rome. The actor was shooting for the film Cassino in Ischia in Italy, where he passed away just four days before his 59th birthday.
