Ram Charan and Upasana Konidela are getting ready to welcome their first child soon, and as they prepare for the baby’s arrival, the couple will move back in with Ram’s parents. In a recent interview, Upasana said that while a lot of couples move out of their parents’ homes after becoming parents, they are doing “just the opposite.” Upasana shared that they presently live by themselves, but want to move back in with his parents so that their child can grow up with grandparents.

Upasana told The Times of India, “We both were brought up in a setup where our grandparents played a huge role in our upbringing. We don’t want to deprive our child of that joy.” She mentioned that this was a “conscious call” as they want to “raise the child together” with Ram’s parents. She added, “Also, we both are working professionals and having their support is extremely important.” Ram is the son of veteran actor Chiranjeevi.

Upasana spoke about Ram lovingly, and said that he is her “go-to man” when she is “hyper or having anxiety attacks.” She added, “He calmly sits me down and says, ‘Okay, let’s figure it out’. I am sure Ram will take an active part in parenting.”

In an earlier chat with Humans of Bombay, Upasana had spoken about how this was the “best time” for them to welcome a child. The couple tied the knot in 2012. “I think it’s the best time because both of us are booming, both of us are financially secure and we can take care of our kids by ourselves. It was our mutual decision. As a couple, we didn’t let pressure hit us, whether it is from the society outside, our family or outsiders. Which says a lot about our relationship and how we are going to bring up our child as well,” she said.
