Jr NTR and Ram Charan hugged each other, Deepika Padukone got emotional as Naatu Naatu won at the Oscars 2023.

‘Naatu Naatu’ from SS Rajamouli’s RRR won the Best Original Song award at the 95th Academy Awards, making history. As music composer MM Keeravaani and lyricist Chandrabose went on the stage to collect the honour, cameras panned towards the audience to catch the reactions of other members of the RRR team.
Ram Charan and Jr NTR, the stars of the film, hugged each other as the win was announced. The video of the same was shared by Ram Charan’s wife Upasana Kamineni on her Instagram stories.

Deepika Padukone’s reaction was also caught by the cameras as MM Keeravaani made his speech. Padukone looked visibly emotional as the composer sang.

Earlier in the ceremony, Deepika introduced the performers of Naatu Naatu on the stage. She called the song a “banger” and as she spoke about the dance number, the audience cheered her on. The performance by Kaala Bhairava & Rahul Sipligunj was followed by a standing ovation in the Dolby Theatre.

Director SS Rajamouli almost jumped from his seat as Naatu Naatu’s win was announced on the stage. He then hugged his wife Rama Rajamouli and was seen screaming with excitement.
RRR’s Naatu Naatu previously won the Golden Globe in the same category. It is the first song from an Indian film ever to win the honour. It was performed at the ceremony by Bhairava and Sipligunj. The performance was accompanied by dancers, and was introduced by Deepika Padukone.
