Archana, who is distributing the film in Tamil Nadu, said, “We are planning to release Pushpa 2: The Rule in 600 locations and 800 screens. We are set to have 3500 shows on Day 1. After GOAT, I am sure you would make this film a super duper success too. I like Sukumar’s ability to balance emotions and action.” She also praised the performances of Allu Arjun and Rashmika, and hoped Sreeleela would have her next big success after Guntur Kaaram song “Kurchi Madathapetti”.
Composer Devi Sri Prasad took to the stage, and said, “You celebrated Pushpa after the release, and you are celebrating the sequel even before the release. It is such a happy occasion. Allu Arjun is a childhood friend, and we got our National awards together. He has delivered a mindboggling performance, and people are going to love your Vishwaroopam in Pushpa 2.”
Sreeleela, meanwhile, expressed her love for Rashmika Mandanna. She said, “I’ve gotten so close to you so fast. You are a tonic of confidence on set. I did my first long shot, and you were encouraging me. This is genuine love.” Sreeleela also revealed that she manifested a DSP composition for a long time, and it has happened with “Kissik”.
Rashmika Mandanna and Allu Arjun spoke towards the end, and won hearts with their Tamil, and their passionate speeches.
Allu Arjun started off by thanking his ‘home’ of Chennai where he spent the first 20 years of his life. “Even if I go national or international, I would always be the boy from Chennai,” said Arjun, adding, “I always wanted to have one film event of mine in a crowded auditorium in Chennai, and it is finally happening with Pushpa 2.”
The actor also shared his love for Rashmika Mandanna, his co-star in Pushpa, and said, “I love my co-stars because action is all about reaction. And I feel conscious about working with any other actor because Rashmika has been my only co-star for the past five years.” He also expressed his admiration for Sreeleela, and said, “First time, I was conscious for any song because Sreeleela was being part of it. I had to up my game.”
Sharing his admiration for Devi Sri Prasad and Sukumar, Allu Arjun said, “Of course, Raghavendra Rao garu gave me a hit, but I didn’t do well in my debut. I had no films after that. Then, Sukumar gave me Arya. There has been no looking back since then. If I look back at my career, if there has been one person that has created the maximum impact, it has to be Sukku. He is someone who doesn’t like publicity at all. Even at the grandest of stages, he never wants to be on top of it and concentrate on delivering the best results.”
Wrapping up his speech with a rapid fire, the Pushpa 2 star was asked about the films he would watch FDFS as a Chennai boy. And pat came the reply, but not with words, but with gestures that referenced Superstar Rajinikanth. “Just the actions are enough to understand, right?” asked Arjun.
Apart from Allu Arjun, the film also brings back Rashmika Mandanna in the role of Srivalli, and Fahadh Faasil as Bhanwar Singh Shekawat. Other actors returning for the sequel, include Rao Ramesh, Jagadeesh Prathap Bandari, Ajay Ghosh, Dhananjaya, and Sunil.
The film, which is made on a budget of Rs 400-500 crore, faced a lot of controversies during the shoot. There were speculations about differences between Sukumar and Arjun. However, everything was put to rest soon after even if the makers didn’t release the film on August 15 as it was first announced.
After multiple postponments, it was finally announced that the sequel will hit the screens on December 5, a day ahead of the earlier announced date of December 4. This move was done to ensure an extended weekend was on the cards for Pushpa 2: The Rule.
