Pushpa 2 Movie Release Highlights

As Pushpa 2: The Rule gears up for its highly anticipated release, Rashmika Mandanna shared a heartfelt post on social media, expressing gratitude and emotions. Alongside a series of behind-the-scenes photos with the cast and crew, Rashmika penned a touching note reflecting on her journey with the Pushpa team.

She revealed how deeply connected she feels to the team, calling it an emotional time for her. She candidly admitted that she was initially "scared" of Allu Arjun when they began shooting Pushpa: The Rise. Sharing her admiration for her co-star, she wrote, "Allu Arjun sir.. from I point of being so scared of sir to even talk to sir to searching for him in our crowded set to ask if the shot was ok..." She added, "Mythri movie makers my home production from the point of fighting for dates to the last day of fighting for dates ??haha.." The actress gave a special mention to Fahadh Faasil, who plays a pivotal role in the film, saying, "Fahadh sir I got to work with you for 2 days and I’ve heard you’ve created absolute magic..on my way to watch it right now I love mythri.. they are the best! ??"

Rashmika concluded her note with overwhelming love for the Pushpa team, sharing, "These people mean so much to me! SO MUCH TO ME! I am so proud of us! I am so proud of how we started to how we are today! Team Pushpa !! I love you! I love how hard we’ve worked.. I love what we’ve created today and I love how in sync we all are! I love it! ?? Everyone works hard but success comes because of the people you surround yourself with. And Pushpa is the perfect example of it. ??."

Pushpa 2 has ran into trouble with Saudi Arabian censor board. After Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, Pushpa 2 has also come under scrutiny by the board over the depiction of Hindu deities. The Saudi Arabian censor board raised objections to the highly anticipated Jathara episode, where Allu Arjun’s character appears dressed as a goddess. After much discussion, the film underwent 19 minutes of edits to address these concerns. It was cleared with the trimmed runtime of 3 hours and 1 minute. Film trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan confirmed the news on X  and wrote, "Saudi Arabia censor board trims Jathara episode and allows the release after multiple cuts with a final runtime of 3 hour 1 min."

The camaraderie between Telugu cinema stars Vijay Deverakonda and Allu Arjun is well-known, with the actors often expressing admiration for each other and supporting one another's films. Ahead of the grand release of Pushpa 2, Vijay gifted Allu Arjun a custom jacket featuring the name of Allu’s iconic character, ‘Pushpa.’ The jacket was crafted at RWDY, an apparel brand owned by Vijay. Allu shared a picture of himself wearing the jacket on his Instagram story, which was taken from his back as he faced a mirror. He expressed his gratitude, writing, "Thank you, my sweetest brother. Continuing the Anavayithi."

Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna’s highly anticipated film Pushpa 2: The Rule is set to hit theatres on Thursday, December 5. While fans in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana will be able to enjoy the midnight screenings, fans in Bengaluru will have to wait a bit longer. This comes after a last-minute decision by the Bengaluru district collector to cancel the film’s midnight shows. As per a tweet from trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan, the move followed a petition from the Kannada Film Producers Association, which argued that Kannada cinema has traditionally released films no earlier than 6 am and that this practice should be upheld. There are also rumours that the association raised concerns over the high ticket prices for the midnight and premiere screenings.

Ahead of the release of Pushpa 2, Allu Arjun’s fans in Bengaluru have unveiled an awe-inspiring 85-foot cutout of the star, making it the largest ever erected for any actor in the Telugu film industry. This monumental display reflects the immense love and loyalty Allu Arjun commands from his fans. With the release of Pushpa 2: The Rule set for Thursday, it’s clear that the excitement surrounding the film is reaching new heights. Directed by Sukumar, the film also features Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil in pivotal roles.

Ahead of Pushpa 2 release, Allu Arjun shared a handwritten note by his son Ayaan and wrote, "This is one of my biggest achievement so far."

Umair Sandhu mentioned in his Pushpa 2 review, "Allu Arjun is in superb form. With his massy avatar, he impresses one and all. His action is top-class and the comic timing is spot on. Another National Award-winning. He added that Rashmika acted well in the film, but it is Fahadh, who stole the show all the way. "Climax is the USP, Interval blocks are mindblowing, It is a different kind of masala film that never came in Indian cinema before."

Trade analyst Ramesh Bala assured there is substantial excitement for Pushpa 2 in the south, and predicted the film should do between Rs 125-150 crore on day 1 in the south states alone. He told PTI, "In the five South states, it should do about Rs. 125 to 150 crore on day one at the box office. People are crazy in the South to watch the film on the first day irrespective of the high ticket rates."

Bengaluru District Collector orders to stop Pushpa 2: The Rule midnight shows. Also, Kannada Film Producers Council has complained about Pushpa 2 midnight show.

Trade Analyst Nishit Shaw shared on X, "#Pushpa2TheRule (Hindi) 300K+ tickets sold across national chains. 3:45pm. ?."

The ticket prices for Pushpa 2 range from Rs 200 to 2,500, but in certain theatres in Mumbai, the tickets for the film have reportedly soared to a staggering Rs 3,000. Film exhibitor Raj Bansal told PTI, "I’ve priced the movie at Rs. 500 to 650 and the lowest is Rs. 200 to 250. For a South Indian film, this was never the case, this is the first time a South movie has this kind of pricing here (Hindi belt)."

According to Ashish Saksena, COO – Cinemas, BookMyShow, metros like Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi-NCR and Pune are leading in advance bookings. "Anticipation for Pushpa 2: The Rule is at an all time high across both northern and southern markets, with distinct factors fuelling this excitement," he told PTI.

Gautam Dutta, CEO, Revenue & Operations, PVR INOX, told PTI, "We are talking about weekend footfall in the range of about 50-60 lakh. We are looking at ‘Pushpa’ doing about Rs 800-1000 crore (overall)… On the first day itself we should get around one million people coming. It is going to be like 10 Eden Gardens ( Kolkata’s iconic stadium) full at PVR."

Allu Arjun-starrer Pushpa 2: The Rule is expected will attract a footfall of over 50 to 60 lakh and a weekend number that may go beyond Rs 150 crore.

PVR Cinemas shared on X, "The Pushpa 2 mania has taken over aur ye rukega nahi! ? The shows are already SOLD OUT. ? Releasing at PVR INOX on December 5!"

During a press meet in Hyderabad, composer Devi Sri Prasad shared his review of Pushpa 2 and said, "After watching the first half of Pushpa 2, I was mindboggled. There were moments when we thought the interval was coming, but the suspense kept building. Sukumar’s direction is top-notch, and Allu Arjun's performance is phenomenal. The film is truly on another level."

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared via X how Pushpa 2 is all set to change how Allu Arjun is positioned as a star. "'PUSHPA 2': A GAME-CHANGER FOR ALLU ARJUN... With an overwhelming response to advance bookings, #Pushpa2 - starring #AlluArjun - is set to storm the global #BO with a thunderous opening... Music composer Sam C. S. expressed his happiness on being a part of Pushpa 2. He recently shared via X, "It's been an overwhelming journey for me on #Pushpa2 ? Director Ram Gopal Varma's post on X is going viral where he compared the price of Pushpa 2 tickets to the price of idli at a star hotel. He also questioned, "Is entertainment more necessary than housing, food, and clothing? If the prices of these essentials are soaring, then the prices for a movie like ‘Pushpa 2’, which are as high as the sky, are relatively low. If people don’t agree, they can choose not to watch or wait for the rates to drop."

Pushpa 2 fever has gone global! The film’s chart-topping songs were performed by a dance school on the streets of Central London. The flash mob stunned onlookers with a high-energy medley of songs from Pushpa 2. Dressed in fusion outfits, the group delivered electrifying performances on the titular track and Shreya Ghoshal’s soulful Angaaron. A video of the flash mob was shared on social media.

A cinema house in North America has revealed that Pushpa 2 has now already achieved 2.5 million+ in North American premiere pre-sales and counting.

Andhra Box Office took to its X handle to post that Allu Arjun will watch a special show of Pushpa 2 ahead of its release, “#AlluArjun to watch the Special Premiere of #Pushpa2TheRule Today 9:30 PM with all the fans at Sandhya 70mm, Hyderabad!"

As per reports, the higher prices of Pushpa 2 in Telugu states will remain in effect until December 8; after that, single-screen and multiplexes will be permitted to raise ticket prices by Rs 105 and Rs 150 until December 16 and Rs 20 and Rs 50 until December 23.

A petition to prevent the release of the much-awaited Telugu movie Pushpa 2 The Rule was denied by the Telangana High Court on Tuesday. A public interest litigation (PIL) was filed stating tickets were being charged an extra Rs 800 under the guise of benefit shows. The first 15 days are also subject to the higher rates. The Telangana government allows the filmmakers to show the benefit show at 9.30 p.m. on Wednesday in all Telangana theaters, including single screens and multiplexes, with a ticket price increase of Rs 800, plus GST.

An intense sequence which involved a graphic scene featuring an amputated leg flying through the air was removed from both the Hindi version of the film. Interestingly, this scene had also been cut from the original Telugu version of Pushpa 2 last week.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh share update about Pushpa 2's Hindi version's Advance booking. He posted, " #Pushpa2 ADVANCE BOOKING... Wed, 4 Dec 2024...?? #Miraj: 39,000 tickets [till Tue night]?? #MovieMax: 14,250 tickets [Wed, 10.15 am] Note: #Hindi version." He added, "IMPORTANT... 'PUSHPA 2' SPOT BOOKINGS HOLD THE KEY… As #Pushpa2 gears up for a wide release tomorrow, backed by phenomenal advance bookings across the board, the real game-changer for the #AlluArjun starrer will be the spot bookings / current bookings."

Pushpa 2: The Rule is all set to hit the theatres on December 5. It's Hindi version got the UA certificate by CBFC and the film's duration is 3 hours, 20 min, 38 sec.

It is reported that one of the changes involved in the Allu Arjun-starrer Pushpa 2: The Rule's Hindi version was the replacement of the word "Ramavatar" with "Bhagwan". Additionally, three instances of an abusive word were removed, and altered with "haraamkhor", to ensure the film adhered to the CBFC's guidelines. The final cut was the translation of an unspecified dialogue into Hindi, in keeping with the film's language requirements.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to X to post, "The response from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, as well as mass pockets, will play a decisive role in determining the final Day 1 numbers."

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh announced on his X account that in the first week of Pushpa 2 release, there will be no 3D shows or midnight shows. He wrote on X, "#BreakingNews... 'PUSHPA 2' *3D VERSION* NOT RELEASING THIS WEEK... The *3D version* of #Pushpa2 will not release this Thursday [5 Dec 2024]... The *2D version* will arrive as scheduled on 5 Dec 2024. Additionally, there will be *no midnight shows* for the #Hindi version of #Pushpa2 on Wednesday night [4 Dec 2024]."

According to trade analyst Manobala Vijaybalan, Pushpa 2 is heading to a massive day at box office. "BREAKING: #Pushpa2 advance SURPASSES ?1??2??5?? cr at the WW Box Office including today's premiere. Making the highest ever advance for any film in the history of Indian cinema. Going by the current trend in sales, Pushpa 2 is expected to gross above ?275 cr milestone mark [Premiere+Day 1]," he wrote on X.

As Pushpa 2 gets ready to release, its ticket prices are also skyrocketing. In Delhi, the most expensive Pushpa 2 tickets are priced at Rs 1,800. In Mumbai and Bengaluru, expensive tickets can be bought for Rs 1,600 and Rs 1,000, respectively.

Pushpa 2 will be available in the standard 2D version as well as 3D, IMAX, 4DX, D-Box and PVR ICE formats. Allu Arjun-starrer will release across the world on December 5 (Thursday) with a few shows that will be help on December 4 for a select audience.

Sukumar reveals that Pushpa was supposed to be one film until Cherry, the CEO of producers Mythri Movie Makers, suggested turning into a two part film. Pushpa: The Rise has been the most awaited, showing just how well the idea worked for the makers.

Pushpa 2 makers have come out with custom hashtags on X ahead of the film's release. Its production house Mythri Movie Makers wrote, “Post on X with... #Pushpa2TheRule #Pushpa2 #AlluArjun #AssaluThaggedheLe #WildFirePushpa And see the magic happen.”

“I shot this film for almost five years, including the first and second parts. I was waiting for this film to get over so that I could clean shave. My daughter doesn’t come to me because I can’t kiss her because I’ve a beard. I haven’t kissed her properly in the last three to four years,” he said at a press event in Mumbai.

"Doing a Hindi film was such a huge thing. Maybe in our lifetime, we will do one or two Hindi films. It was that far away for us to do Hindi films. From that mindset to coming to this stage and standing here is a very big thing for me. We both won National Awards and gave a national superhit album for the same film. It is the most precious thing ever to happen for us,” the Pushpa star said at an event in Mumbai.

At the Pushpa 2: The Rule pre-release event in Chennai, composer Devi Sri Prasad addressed rumours about being sidelined by the producers. DSP also accused them of not giving him due credit for his work. Read more here
