With the release of HIT: The Third Case right around the corner, actor Nani is busy promoting the actioner, helmed by Sailesh Kolanu. The third instalment in the HIT Universe, the movie has been generating quite a buzz ever since its teaser dropped a month ago, and the hype has only gone up with the arrival of the actioner’s trailer on Monday. While the promo videos grabbed attention for their exploration of Nani’s no-holds-barred acting talent, they also made many flinch owing to the sheer amount of violence.

Interestingly, readings comparing HIT 3 with violent actioners such as director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Animal (2023), Haneef Adeni’s Unni Mukundan-led Marco (2024) and Nikhil Nagesh Bhat’s Kill (2023), featuring Lakshya, have also emerged from various corners since the release of the trailer. However, Nani himself has now dismissed such comparisons, maintaining that the new HIT movie differs significantly from the aforementioned action thrillers.

“I don’t think HIT 3 should be put in the same bracket as Animal, Kill, or Marco. HIT 3 follows a different grammar. When you watch the film at a stretch, everything fits so naturally that the violence won’t be an issue. You won’t feel the intense portions are out of place. Once the lights go off, people will be completely immersed in the world of HIT 3,” he said while addressing the media in Hyderabad on Monday following HIT: The Third Case’s trailer launch, 123telugu reported.

When enquired about his feelings on rising through the ranks and entering the elite club of lead actors who deliver back-to-back hits, Nani flayed such categorisations. “Whoever started this Tier 1, Tier 2 stars is a stupid idea. There should not be any division between stars. If you like a star, you will watch his film and make it a hit,” he added. Also starring Srinidhi Shetty, Surya Srinivas, Adil Pala and Rao Ramesh, HIT: The Third Case is slated for release on May 1.
