Earlier this week, during his latest #AskSRK session on X, Shah Rukh Khan engaged in a funny banter with Siddharth Anand, the director of his upcoming film King. In a lighthearted, informal exchange, the two hinted at the official title reveal of the film on Shah Rukh’s 60th birthday. Now, Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu and filmmaker SS Rajamouli seem to have taken a cue from that and kicked off their own banter on the microblogging platform.
On Saturday, the first day of the month, Mahesh tweeted, “It’s November already @ssrajamouli (eyes emoji),” harking back to the filmmaker’s claim on social media earlier this year in August that he’d drop the first reveal of their upcoming film in November. After Rajamouli responded in Telugu, Mahesh took a dig at the filmmaker’s long-in-the-making film on Indian epic Mahabharata.
“First things first, You promised us something in November. Please keep up your word,” wrote Mahesh Babu, to which SS Rajamouli responded, “It has just started Mahesh. We’ll slowly reveal one by one.” An impatient Mahesh then tagged his co-star in the Rajamouli film, Priyanka Chopra, taking a potshot at how she’s been actively sharing glimpses from her Hyderabad visits, where they’re shooting the film, despite her involvement in the movie being kept under wraps. Priyanka then jumped into the conversation and wrote, “Helloooo!! hero!!! You want me to leak all the stories you share with me on set? (punch emoji).”
Rajamouli then blamed Mahesh for letting the cat out of the bag. “Why did you reveal PC @urstrulyMahesh… You ruined the surprise.. (angry emoji).” The upcoming film, tentatively titled SSMB29 and rumoured to be titled Globetrotter, will mark Priyanka’s first Indian acting role in over six years. Her last turn was in Shonali Bose’s 2019 family drama The Sky Is Pink.
Earlier this year, on Mahesh Babu’s birthday in August, SS Rajamouli also seemed to have revealed the title of the film. Rajamouli shared an announcement with a post on his X handle. He added that the “first reveal” about the film will be out in November. “The First Reveal in November 2025 #GlobeTrotter,” read the caption of the post. It featured a close-up shot of Mahesh Babu’s chest, wearing a pendant featuring an idol of Lord Shiva’s trident and his ox Nandi. It had Globetrotter written over it.
