Kannappa: Prabhas shares his first look as Rudra the ‘Divine Guardian’. See photo

After Kalki 2898 AD, Prabhas is all set to step into the mythological genre with Vishnu Manchu’s Telugu movie Kannappa, where he portrays Rudra, a devoted follower of Lord Shiva.

In a poster released on Monday, Prabhas can be seen wearing rudraksha mala on his arm and neck, and holding a wooden spear in his hand. The actor is spotting long hair and chandan on his forehead.

Prabhas shared the poster of Rudra and wrote, “ॐ The Divine Guardian ‘𝐑𝐮𝐝𝐫𝐚’ ॐ Unveiling my look as ‘Rudra’ 🔱. The embodiment of strength and wisdom as the unwavering protector in #Kannappa 🏹. The text on the poster read, “Rebel star Prabhas as Rudra.” The poster also described the character as, “He is the raging strong! The guide through times past and future. He is ruled by Lord Shiva’s command!”

Fans shared their reaction to the poster in the comments section of the post. A user called Prabhas, “Rebel GOD ❤️❤️🙏,” while another wrote, “My man.. Pure Legend 👊🎬.”

The makers previously shared posters of Akshay Kumar and Kajal Aggarwal, who would play Lord Shiva and Devi Parvathi, respectively, in the Vishnu Manchu movie.

Kannappa tells the tale of an atheist hunter named Kannappa (played by Vishnu Manchu), who becomes a follower of Lord Shiva. His unwavering love and devotion to Shiva is grandly re-told in the movie.

The film, also starring Mohan Babu, R. Sarathkumar, Arpit Ranka, Kaushal Manda, Rahul Madhav and Devaraj, is scheduled for release on April 25.
