Not many actors have been fortunate enough to have a debut like Teja Sajja did back in 1998. At the tender age of four, he entered the film industry, portraying the role of Chiranjeevi’s son in the superhit movie Choodalani Vundi. Despite lacking any prior connections in Tollywood, young Teja endeared himself to many soon and went on to appear as a child artist in several movies, alongside big stars such as Daggubati Venkatesh, Nagarjuna Akkineni, Pawan Kalyan, Prabhas, Mahesh Babu, Allu Arjun, and NT Rama Rao Jr.

After making his debut as a lead actor in Prasanth Varma’s Zombie Reddy (2021) and headlining two more movies the same year, Teja Sajja is now gearing up for the grand release of his big-budget superhero film Hanuman. Helmed by Zombie Reddy director Prasanth Varma, the film also stars Amritha Aiyer, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Vinay Rai, Raj Deepak Shetty, and Samuthirakani in key roles.

As part of the film’s promotional activities, Team Hanuman organised a press meet in Hyderabad on Tuesday, where the cast and crew members participated. Meanwhile, Teja’s response to a query as to whether he can handle such a colossal project has since garnered significant attention.

When questioned about his ability to do justice to a film of massive scale, Teja responded in a composed yet firm manner, as reported by Hindustan Times, “I mean no disrespect to anyone but would you ask a star kid the same question? No one asks a second-generation actor from a film family if they can handle big films when they’re debuting with films bigger than mine.”

Emphasising that only outsiders face such scrutiny, he observed, “Someone like me who has worked as a child actor, worked in films like Oh! Baby and Zombie Reddy as an adult, still gets asked this question.”

He added, “I have worked hard to be here today but it doesn’t feel like you value it. I am not comparing myself to star kids, nor am I saying I’m the same as them. They get many opportunities, I got one like Hanuman.”

“Time will tell what I have contributed to this film. I have given this career my all, maybe that’s why I got this opportunity. I have completed the film, no one can take it away from me now. Outsiders like me always get pulled down when we make ambitious attempts. Let’s not behave like only star kids are entitled to big films like this one,” HT quoted him as saying.

Ahead of the movie’s release, the makers unveiled Hanuman’s trailer on Tuesday, revealing that the film incorporates significant mythological elements. Hanuman will hit the screens on January 12, 2024, on the occasion of Sankranti, in not only Indian languages such as Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu, but also Korean, Chinese, Japanese and English.
