Game Changer box office collection day 1 early report: After exactly five years of its announcement, Game Changer finally hit the screens on January 10, days ahead of Sankranti. The film, starring Ram Charan and Kiara Advani in the lead roles, was in the making for several years and witnessed many delays due to COVID-19 pandemic and director S Shankar’s other commitments. Game Changer, as of 9 pm. has earned over Rs 32.41 crore across India, according to early estimates by industry tracker Sacnilk.

Game Changer has about 3863 shows in the Telugu language across India. While the Tamil version has around 650 shows, the Hindi version has 2485 shows. The film has also released in Kannada and Malayalam as well as in IMAX 2D format in select theatres across languages. It has over 7500 shows across India.

The release of Game Changer has slowed down the sales of Pushpa 2 tickets, which has reduced to Rs 45 lakh across languages on its sixth Friday as of 5 p.m., according to Sacnilk. There are about just 88 shows in Telugu and 1048 shows in Hindi. Previously, the film had over six thousand shows across India, even after its third week.

Game Changer had also earned a whopping Rs 43.55 crore in its advance bookings across languages in India, according to Sacnilk. It earned the most in Andhra Pradesh, that is Rs 13.07 crore gross and Rs 6.41 crore in Telangana. In Delhi, the film earned Rs 1.05 crore gross in its advance bookings.

The film opened to mixed reviews with Avinash Ramachandran of SCREEN giving it a 2.5 rating. In his review for SCREEN, he wrote: “Game Changer is essentially a lot of nice segments that are stitched together in the hope that it would make a good film. Now, individually, these segments have a sense of purpose, but together, they sometimes become incoherent due to the lack of focus.”
