Devara box office collection day 1: Jr NTR-starrer Devara has opened to a whopping Rs 77 crore India net, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. The film, also starring Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor, had over 8000 shows in the Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam languages across the country. The film had approximately 4200 shows in Telugu, followed by 3200 shows in Hindi.

Directed by Koratala Siva, the film witnessed an overall occupancy of 79.56 percent in Telugu with over 1726 shows in Hyderabad. In Hindi, the film witnessed an overall occupancy of 18.37 percent with 806 shows in Delhi/NCR, and 517 shows in Mumbai. According to Sacnilk, Devara earned Rs 68.6 crore in Telugu, Rs 7 crore in Hindi, Rs 80 lakh in Tamil, and Rs 30 lakh in Kannada and Malayalam each.

Globally, the film has collected Rs 172 crore, according to the makers of the film. Devara marks Jr NTR’s first film since the release of his 2022 global hit RRR, which also starred Ram Charan. The two-hero film, directed by SS Rjamouli made Rs 133 crore nett in India. Before this, the biggest solo opener of the actor was his 2018 film Aravindha Sametha as it earned Rs 58 crore gross globally. Devara now stands as his biggest opener.

In its pre-sales for the opening day, Devara had minted over Rs 45 crore gross in India and about Rs 30 crore overseas including the premiere sales. Devara has become the second biggest opener of 2024 after Prabhas-starrer Kalki 2898 AD, which made Rs 95 crore nett in India, and Rs 191.5 crore gross worldwide. With no other big releases across the country on September 27, it seems like Devara can dominate the box office this weekend.

Devara is produced by Yuvasudha Arts and NTR Arts. Jr NTR plays a dual role in the film, while Saif Ali Khan plays the antagonist Bhaira. The film also stars Janhvi Kapoor, Shruti Marathe, Prakash Raj, Shine Tom Chacko, and Srikanth, among others.
