Bhagavanth Kesari box office collection day 4: Nandamuri Balakrishna’s film fails to impress audiences, earns less than Rs 40 crore
Bhagavanth Kesari box office collection day 4: Even on a Sunday, the Anil Ravipudi directorial starring Nandamuri Balakrishna could only collect around Rs 8 crore.

Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Bhagavanth Kesari had a slow start at the box office, having opened at Rs 16 crore. While the numbers were expected to grow in the first weekend, due to people busy attending Navratri celebrations, theatres remained relatively empty. On its first Sunday, the film earned Rs 8 crore, reported industry tracker Sacnilk. This brings the four-day total collection of the Anil Ravipudi directorial to Rs 39.40 crore.
On day 4, Bhagavanth Kesari saw an occupancy of 51.42 percent in the Telugu-speaking market. The evening shows had the most number of audiences, followed by night, afternoon, and morning shows.
Bhagavanth Kesari follows the story of Bhagavanth Kesari (played by Balakrishna), who struggles to make his dead friend’s daughter Viji (Sreeleela) an Army officer against all odds. Starring Nandamuri Balakrishna in the lead role, the film also stars Sreeleela, Kajal Aggarwal and Arjun Rampal. It marks the Telugu debut of Rampal.
Bhagavanth Kesari is facing some competition against Vijay’s Leo. Leo has been dominating the Telugu market and has already raked in Rs 181.35 crore at the box office. Another biggie Ravi Tejas’s Tiger Nageswara Rao had a slow start at the Telugu box office and its collection stands at Rs 14.66 crore after three days.
Giving the film 3 stars, The Indian Express’ review of Bhagavanth Kesari mentioned, “Bhagavanth Kesari tries hard not to be a regular Nandamuri Balakrishna movie, while having all the signature moments die-hard fans will expect from him. The film takes time to pick up the pace, which happens after the star appears in a fight in the jail. The usual heavy dialoguebaazi of Balakrishna is offset by a few funny sequences. Balayya’s Telangana dialect definitely sounds forced, but it is not too difficult to bear as the story progresses.”
