As Akhil Akkineni’s Agent bites the dust, old video of the actor talking about nepotism resurfaces
In the video, Akhil Akkineni says that star kids don't have it easy and they have more pressure than an outsider.

Ever since Kangana Ranaut stirred the nepotism debate on Koffee with Karan, most star kids invariably keep facing questions about having it easy in life. And over the years many star kids have said that it is not the case and their life is as tough as any outsider’s. Telugu actor Akhil Akkineni, son of Nagarjuna, who is yet to deliver a blockbuster in his career, holds a similar opinion on the subject. A clip from an old interview of Akhil is making the rounds on social media, where the actor says that it is ‘300 times’ harder for star kids to succeed in the industry.
The video has resurfaced following the box office failure of the actor’s recent film Agent, which was made on a huge budget. Akhil pinned a lot of hope on the movie as he was in desperate need of a hit.
In the video, Akhil says, “It is easy for a person who hasn’t received an opportunity to say that star kids have it easy. You are only looking at the handful of star kids who have made it. Look at the two handfuls of star kids who have not made it. When you come as a star kid there is 300 times more pressure than what the normal person has. You have so much to lose. You have a family legacy to lose. You are already a star before making a film that’s why you are called a star kid. There is a lot of pressure to deliver. Films are not a joke. Everyone sees the glamour part of the industry, but it is very very harsh industry. If you fail, you fail publicly.”
Akhil Akkinen’s latest PAN India film “AGENT” is a big Disaster… this is what he said about nepotism once

However, Akhil Akkineni’s comments didn’t go down well with people on social media. A user commented, “Nepotism doesn’t mean that every star kid will become successful. Nepotism is when you are a talentless nepokid with no screen presence and charisma, audience rejects you but you still come back with a new movie which again becomes disaster (sic).”
Akhil’s statement doesn’t factor in how star kids keep getting opportunities consistently despite churning out box office disasters. Users also noted that an outsider cannot afford such luxury.
Meanwhile, after the failure of Agent, Akhil Akkineni hasn’t announced his next film.
