Amit Shah meets Ram Charan after Oscar win, says ‘Telugu film industry has significantly influenced India’s culture, economy’

After bringing the Oscar trophy home, RRR’s team — music composer MM Keeravaani, lyricist Chandrabose, director SS Rajamouli, and actors Ram Charan and Jr NTR have been receiving a warm welcome from their fans. RRR’s joyously energetic anthem ‘Naatu Naatu’ won the Academy Award for the Best Original Song award at the Oscars.

On Friday, RRR star Ram Charan and his father, Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi, met Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi. Shah shared photos from their meeting and wrote, “Delighted meeting @KChiruTweets and @AlwaysRamCharan – two legends of Indian Cinema. The Telugu film industry has significantly influenced India’s culture & economy. Have congratulated Ram Charan on the Oscar win for the Naatu-Naatu song and the phenomenal success of the ‘RRR’.”

Responding to Shah, Ram Charan wrote, “Truly an honour to meet our Honourable Home Minister @AmitShah
Ji at the @IndiaToday Conclave.  Thank you sir for appreciating the efforts of @RRRMovie team 🙏.”

Chiranjeevi thanked Amit Shah for his best wishes and wrote, “Thank you Shri @AmitShah ji for your Hearty Wishes & Blessings to @AlwaysRamCharan on behalf of Team #RRR for a successful Oscar Campaign & bringing home the First ever Oscar for an Indian Production! Thrilled to be present on this occasion!”

Ram Charan, who flew in from LA and landed in New Delhi on Friday, received a warm welcome at the airport where fans chanted “Naatu Naatu” at his arrival.

Ram Charan also interacted with the media stationed outside the airport. He said, as reported by ANI, “I am pleased and happy. Thank you everyone. We are proud of MM Keeravaani, SS Rajamouli and Chandrabose. Because of their hard work, we went to the red carpet and brought Oscars for India.”
