A promo from Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 11 featuring Tanishaa Mukherji left many emotional and amazed. The actor shared how she comes from a family of actors and her sister Kajol and brother-in-law Ajay Devgn are among the biggest stars in the country. Reacting to judge Farah Khan’s comment about her performance, Tanishaa said that she doesn’t consider herself a ‘star’ as compared to her loved ones.
Indianexpress.com recently caught up with Tanishaa and asked her why she made a comment like that on the show. Calling it a ‘raw’ emotion, the Neal and Nikki actor said that it was her first performance on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 11, and having not performed for an audience or judge for the longest time, she was overwhelmed with emotions. “Also, it was Farah, who has been such an important part of my sister’s journey. I have grown watching her choreograph Kajol and even Rani. So when she called me a star, it really hit deep,” Tanishaa said.
She added, “I believe in what I said on the stage. I have set a great standard for myself as these people are really such amazing personalities. I don’t know about others, but I wouldn’t call myself a star just because I achieved a few things. I would do it only the day I feel I have accomplished even close to the level of love, goodwill, and body of work they have. That for me is stardom. They are like my idols and I look up to them. But I did get emotional about getting this validation from someone from the same fraternity.”

When asked about Kajol’s response to her statement, the actor smiled to say, “We share a very strong relationship, there is a sense of… See, Kajol understands the intention behind everything I say, and I am sure she is proud of me for being honest and real. That’s what we have been taught by our mother to be who we are, always.”
Did Tanishaa get advice from her family before Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 11? “They have never done a dance reality show so they cannot advice me,” Tanishaa said with a loud laugh, adding, “But they can give me love and support me. They would be watching and cheering me on, like they have throughout my struggles. They both have always been there for me.”
