Actor-comedian Siddharth Sagar got engaged to longtime girlfriend Subuhi Joshi on November 9 in an intimate ceremony in New Delhi.

Talking about the engagement, Siddharth, in an exclusive chat with indianexpress.com, shared, “It was a great feeling. Since it was mostly Subuhi’s family, I was treated like a king (smiles). Also, it was my first engagement, so I was really nervous. But thankfully everything went on well.”

Siddharth and Subuhi met during Comedy Classes. But the couple broke up after Siddharth’s mother, reportedly, did not approve of the relationship. Recently, Siddharth faced a hard time after he was forcibly sent to a rehabilitation centre by his mother. Emerging stronger from the incident, the comedian found support and love in Subuhi and they decided to reconcile.

Sharing why he choose Subuhi Joshi as his life partner, Siddharth Sagar said, “Everyone knows about my happy and funny side but Subuhi has seen my darkest side. It’s not easy to be with someone like me. But she has not only accepted me but also loves me a lot. And I don’t think I could have got a better partner than her.”

The actor also opened up about his romantic proposal. “On Subuhi’s birthday, I took her to a deserted shack in Goa which I had booked beforehand. There, I surprised her with flowers, decorations, lights and music. I also gifted her the ring and proposed her for an engagement. She asked me to talk to her mother. I dialed her up and she happily gave us her blessings. It was one of the happiest moments of my life,” he shared.

He further said that they will take time before they tie the knot. “We want to focus on our respective careers as of now. We want to also enjoy our time as an engaged couple,” Siddharth concluded with a smile.
