Rashami Desai calls Ranveer Singh and Johnny Sins ad ‘humiliating’, Nakuul Mehta says, ‘Acing my day job and how’

While Rashami Desai slammed Ranveer Singh's latest ad with Johnny Sins, other actors from the small screen have lauded and laughed over the actor recreating a saas-bahu parody.

On Monday, Ranveer Singh posted an ad promoting men’s sexual health. The ad, also featuring Johnny Sins, was designed as a TV spoof and took the internet by storm. While many from Bollywood lauded Ranveer for the initiative, they even laughed over the ad that was posted by the Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani actor. However, TV actor Rashami Desai was offended by the video. She wrote on her Instagram stories how the ad was ‘humiliating’ to the TV industry and that she was not okay with it. Contrary to Rashami’s stand, other TV actors like Karan Kundrra, Nakuul Mehta, and Karan Tacker have lauded the ad.

While Mehta commented on Ranveer’s post, “Acing my day job and how,” Kundrra wrote that Ranveer has ‘killed it’ with this ad. Tacker commented, ‘what even’ with a laughing-out-loud emoji. Other Bollywood celebrities who reacted to the video include Priyanka Chopra, Richa Chadha, Arjun Kapoor, Vikrant Massey, Vijay Varma, Zareen Khan, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Mukesh Chabbra.

Slamming Ranveer Singh’s portrayal of the TV industry in the ad, Rashami had written on Instagram, “I’ve started my work from a regional film industry. And then started working in the television industry. People call it a small screen. Where normal people watch the news, cricket, all the Bollywood films also, and much more. After watching this reel, which is highly unexpected, I felt it was a humiliation to all the TV industry and people who work in television. Because we (are) always made feel smaller. Actors really wanna work on the big screen too, this is how exactly we get treated. Everyone is working hard. But I’m sorry, TV show pe yeh sab nahi dikhate. This all happens on the big screen. And nothing wrong in showing some reality but this is a reality check for all the TV industry coz I feel it’s a slap. Maybe I am overreacting. But we show culture and love to our audience. And I am hurt coz I’ve had a respectful journey in the TV industry. Hope you all will understand the emotion.”
