Laurie Holden joins cast of ‘Chicago Med’

Former ‘Walking Dead’ star Laurie Holden has joined the cast of NBC’s ‘Chicago Med’.

Holden will star as Dr Hannah Tramble, described as “a fearless, brilliant ER surgeon whose tough-as-nails childhood has given her a dark edge,” reported Deadline.

‘Chicago Med’ is the second spinoff series of Chicago Fire, and the cast will be introduced in episode 19 of the
current season, due to air this spring.

‘Chicago Med’ stars S Epatha Merkerson as the head of the hospital, Yaya DaCosta as a nurse named Maggie Seaver and Nick Gehlfuss as a doctor who was introduced in ‘Chicago PD’.

‘Chicago PD’ was the first ‘Chicago Fire’ spin-off and it premiered midseason in January 2014. It was recently renewed for a third season.

Both ‘Chicago Fire’ and ‘Chicago PD’ are produced by legendary TV producer Dick Wolf, who created the ‘Law & Order’ series franchise.

Holden is best known for playing Andrea in AMC’s zombie apocalypse drama ‘The Walking Dead’. She was part of the series for three seasons before her character was killed off.
