Kapil Sharma’s onscreen wife Sumona Chakravarti says she doesn’t miss comedian, The Kapil Sharma Show cast: ‘A line between personal, professional life’
Sumona Chakravarti said that she had a great time working with Kapil Sharma and team for ten years. However, she said she is not missing working with them.

Actor Sumona Chakravarti starred in Kapil Sharma’s television shows for over ten years and was a permanent member of his team as his show changed many avatars. But now, as Kapil has moved on to Netflix for The Great Indian Kapil Show with the rest of his team, Sumona isn’t a part of the gang anymore. Now, in a recent interview, Sumona was asked if she missed Kapil and the team and she spoke about her working experience with them.
In a chat with Navbharat Times, when asked if Sumona misses Kapil and team, she said, “Those were great 10 years of my life. One project finished, so he (Kapil) went ahead and started another project and I am doing another project. That’s all there is.” She also added, “As far as missing is concerned, they are my colleagues. I have drawn a line between my personal and professional life. I don’t take my work home and I don’t bring my personal life to work.”
Sumona first delved into comedy space when she was seen in Kahani Comedy Circus Ki with Kapil. In different iterations of Comedy Circus, television actors were paired with comedians and every week, the duo would compete with other actor-comedian duos. Kapil won many seasons of Comedy Circus. Soon after this, Sumona was cast in the role of Kapil’s wife in Colors’ Comedy Nights with Kapil. She then moved to The Kapil Sharma Show in 2016 when the comedian moved from Colors to Sony TV and stayed with it until it finished its run in 2023.
However, Sumona wasn’t announced as one of the cast members of The Great Indian Kapil Show on Netflix. When asked about the same, she told PTI, “I don’t have an answer to this. The show that I was part of, which was on another channel, ended last year in July. Since then, I’ve been on my own journey, doing my own things, networking, and meeting people.”
She added, “I know fans have missed (me on the show), I’ve seen their messages. I meet people everywhere, the moment you step out of the house, your neighbours tell you (they miss seeing you on the show). That is exactly what motivates you to do something different.”
