As per the TOI report, Vivek and Divyanka sought help from the local police but in vain. Since the incident took place late in the evening, the couple could not get help from the Indian Embassy. At present, Divyanka Tripathi and Vivek Dahiya are staying in a small town near Florence, and are struggling with cash and have sought assistance from the Embassy. However, Vivek told the publication that the hotel staff has been very kind and helpful towards them.
While some people called them out for not being careful, Divyanka created on Instagram and wrote, “The car was parked in a secured resort property when the break-in happened. Please do not trouble us by suggesting how the care should have been taken. The resort knew about the ‘luggage in car’ status and they were cool about it. This can happen to anyone… But I hope it doesn’t! Be of help if you can, or empathise. If that’s seemingly difficult… Please go ahead doing your business.” She also updated that a detailed report has been filed at the local police station.
Vivek and Divyanka are expected to return to India in the next few days.
