Dilip Joshi addresses rumours of owning luxury car, bungalow in Mumbai: ‘Mujhe bhi batao kahan hai’

Some people assume that Dilip Joshi owns a big house in Mumbai and a luxury car too. But, Joshi wants to know where are these things which people claim he owns.

Actor Dilip Joshi is quite popular among the masses in India for playing Jethalal in the popular television sitcom, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. The actor has been playing the character since 2008 and some people assume that the show has brought him not just fame, but a big bungalow in Mumbai and a luxury car. But, Joshi recently cleared the air and said that none of these rumours are true.

Joshi appeared on Bombay Journey and addressed the rumours about him owning the luxury car Audi Q7. He said, “To grab eyeballs, people are writing anything and posting anything on YouTube. People are cooking up stories like I have Audi Q7. I am like, ‘Mujhe bhi batao yaar kahan hai, main chalaun usko (Tell me also where is it? I will drive it).”

The actor also mentioned how people think he owns a bungalow in Mumbai which has a swimming pool in it. Joshi added, “Someone also said I have a bungalow with a swimming pool. I am like, ‘if I had a bungalow in Mumbai that too with a swimming pool in it, what would have been greater than that’.”

Dilip Joshi got his due as an actor with Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. He had started his Bollywood career with the 1989 movie Maine Pyar Kiya, where he essayed the role of a house help. He later appeared in films like One 2 Ka 4, Hum Aapke Hain Koun, Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani and others.

In the same interview, Joshi also shared how the success of Hum Aapke Hain Koun didn’t benefit him at all. In the movie, he essayed the role of Renuka Shahane and Madhuri Dixit’s cousin. He said when he got offered the Sooraj Barjatya film, he thought his life is set. “I thought now my life is set. But that film came, it became a super hit and I didn’t get any work after that,” Joshi shared.
