Devoleena Bhattacharjee, husband Shanawaz Shaikh organise annaprashan puja for son Joy, fans praise the actress for staying true to her culture
Devoleena shared a series of pictures from the nanaprashan ceremony of her son. The couple organised a puja which was attended by their friends and family.

Devoleena Bhattacharjee was all over the news when she surprised her fans by getting married to her gym trainer Shanawaz Shaikh in 2022. The couple often made headlines for their interfaith wedding. In 2024, they welcomed their son, Joy. On Tuesday, the actress celebrated the annaprashan ceremony of her son, where Joy ate solid food for the first time. The actress shared pictures from the celebrations, which soon went viral as this was the first time she revealed her baby’s face.
Sharing a series of pictures, Devoleena wrote, “With folded hands and hearts full of gratitude, we celebrated our beloved son’s Annaprashan ,Joy’s first sacred taste of Anna (rice).” She added, “May Maa Annapurna bless him with health, wisdom, and a life full of abundance. A beautiful milestone, a memory for a lifetime.” The pictures featured the couple posing with their son and taking part in the puja before the ceremony.

Devoleena’s post attracted a lot of comments from her fans who praised her for staying true to her culture.
A fan wrote, “I am very happy that Debolina has not left her culture. This is the true love of Debolina and her husband, who respect each other’s religion.” Another user wrote, “I truely respect this girl and her husband too.”
Many others showered the couple with lot of love and claimed Joy looks a lot like his mother Devoleena.
Devoleena and Shanawaz welcomed their baby boy on December 18 last year. The couple shared the news through a video on Instagram. The post read, “Hello world! Our little angel BOY is here…18/12/2024.” The couple had tied the knot back in 2022 in a court wedding in Lonavala. The ceremony was attended by their close friends.
