Dalljiet Kaur says ex-husband Shalin Bhanot has not contacted their son in a year, reveals she invited him to Kenya: ‘Don’t want to check on your son?’

Dalljiet Kaur, who got married to Kenya-based businessman Nikhil Patel in March 2023, has been quite open about the troubles in her marriage. Now, in a recent interview, Dalljiet opened up about her ex-husband Shalin Bhanot, with whom she shares a son named Jaydon, and said that Shalin has not reached out to their son in the last one year, and has never expressed any desire to know what brought Dalljiet and Jaydon back from Kenya.

Talking to Galatta India, Dalljiet said, “With my ex, there has been zero communication for about a year, or maybe more. He hasn’t really reached out so I don’t have any communication. I tried to be amicable with him for nine years. Every time he would ask to meet Jaydon, I would never refuse. Very happily I made them meet because I thought it was good for Jaydon. I was very selfish like that. I was more than happy him meeting Jaydon.”

Dalljiet Kaur said that she wondered why Shalin Bhanot was not interested in knowing what transpired in Kenya that led to her and Jaydon’s return to India. “You don’t want to check on your son? You don’t want to know what happened from the horse’s mouth? You have my number. The world wants to know. You don’t want to know? But that’s his karma,” she said.

When asked categorially if Shalin did not reach out to meet Jaydon, Dalljiet said that “not a single message” had come from his end. “It was always a pattern that he would reach out. I made it a point for him to meet Nikhil. I asked him that you come to Kenya, stay with us, it will be good for Jaydon. He said yeah yeah. And then gayab,” she said.

Dalljiet Kaur and Shalin Bhanot got married in 2009 and parted ways in 2015. In 2023, she got married to Nikhil and the two are presently undergoing a separation.
