Days after actor Rajeev Sen claimed that his fallout with ex-wife, television star Charu Asopa, was prompted by her interactions with his best friend behind his back, Charu has denied the allegations and challenged Rajeev to elaborate on and substantiate his claims. Rajeev Sen is the brother of Bollywood actor Sushmita Sen. Refuting his accusations, Charu also urged Rajeev to reveal the name of the friend and the content of their conversations. In a new vlog on her YouTube channel, Charu, instead of laying counter-accusations, sought to know more details regarding Rajeev's narrative. She said, "Ek comment mere baare mein aaya tha ki mujhe apne kisi dost se baat karte hue range haath pakda. Toh pehle toh mujhe yeh comment hi bada ajeeb laga ki 'dost se baat karte hue range haath pakda'. Jab aapne range haath pakda toh aapko pata hoga ki maine kya baat ki (There was a comment made about me saying I was caught red-handed talking to one of your friends. First of all, I found that very strange, 'caught red-handed just for talking to a friend'? If you caught me 'red-handed', then surely you know what I said, right?)" The actor added: "Toh batao, maine kya baat ki, kyunki mujhe bhi pata chale. Jab aapne 'range haath pakda' toh mai aapke dost se kya baat kar rahi thi? Aur jis dost se baat kar rahi thi, uska naam toh batao mujhe. Kis dost se baat kar rahi thi mai aapke? Toh hawa mein nahi baat karni chahiye; sab hawa mein baat karte hain (So tell me what I said; I’d like to know too. If you 'caught me red-handed', what exactly was I saying to your friend? And tell me the name of the friend I was talking to. Who is this 'friend'? One shouldn't make baseless statements; everyone just speaks without facts)." In a recent interview with the Times of India, Rajeev Sen had claimed that he saw Charu Asopa talking to his best friend of two decades behind his back on New Year's. Offended also by her following his friend on Instagram, Rajeev claimed that she crossed the line by secretly befriending him. Suggesting that she had no financial issues, he also alleged that she played the victim card often. Charu, along with their daughter, had recently relocated to Bikaner, Rajasthan, citing financial struggles. Maintaining that she was not living in poverty, Charu had also clarified recently that she left Mumbai because it was expensive. "The money I am paying in Mumbai as rent can be EMI in a place like Bikaner, where I can soon own the house. I want a stable house for Ziana. I can’t always live on rent. I want to give her a stable school life. Here, in Bikaner, my daughter can live with their grandparents and not nannies when I am away for work," she said. While Rajeev Sen tied the knot with Charu Asopa in 2019, the couple welcomed their daughter Ziana in 2021. The two got divorced in 2023.
