Bigg Boss OTT 3: Viral ‘Vada Pav girl’, Chandrika Dixit, answers if she’ll continue selling snacks after her exit, says, ‘I want to progress’
In an exclusive interview, 'Vada Pav Girl' Chandrika Dixit revealed if she will continue with her business of selling snacks now that she is a celebrity.

This year Bigg Boss OTT 3 has had contestants from various walks of life. Among them was the viral ‘Vada Pav girl’ from Delhi, Chandrika Dixit whose controversy-ridden image was built on her scrappy social media presence. However, when she walked onto the Bigg Boss stage, she said that anyone who spends 10 minutes with her will change their opinion about her. Her sojourn remained a mixed bag and she has not been successful in turning her claim into fruition.
Chandrika was evicted within 24 days of the start of the show. With her journey ending on Bigg Boss OTT 3, Chandrika Dixit sat down for a conversation with Indianexpress.com sharing how she feels like a winner.

In the conversation, Chandrika also asked if she would return to selling vada pavs or enjoy the celebrity status she has gained from Bigg Boss OTT 3. She also got emotional sharing how spending almost three weeks away from her 3-year-old son was quite difficult. Talking about succeeding in changing her public image, Chandrika shared, “My image changed, people had seen one side of me and assumed I only fight. But nobody saw the reasons why I fought; no one noticed, how loving and caring I was. Poulomi told me that the world should see the person that I am. Sai Ketan Rao and Ranvir Shorey’s opinions about me changed, so I am already a winner. I never pretended to be a different person on the show.”

When asked about reuniting with her son, Chandrika teared up and said, “I was away from him for 24 days. The daytime would pass because outside too, I work from 10 am to 1 am but then I need my son; to hug him and sleep. I would not go in the bedroom or close to the bed because it reminded me of my child. I was remembering him for the last two days, and he was sick outside. Thank God, I got evicted. He has clung to me since the time I came out. He is so scared. I can do anything for him.”

Chandrika Dixit has had her share of ups and downs on Bigg Boss OTT 3. Two major reasons she got reprimanded on the show were – forming a strong opinion about Vishal Pandey after he made a distasteful comment about Kritika Malik, secondly for her nasty comment on Sai Ketan Rao who offered her a back massage because she was in pain. Reacting to the Vishal Pandey fiasco and her take on it, Chandrika said, “I would feel uncomfortable around Vishal because, at the end of the day, he insulted a girl. I just kept my point, I never stopped anyone from interacting with him. The matter was between a husband and wife, I never stood for Armaan, my stand was always for Kritika. A girl was judged by her body which was not right. On the weekend when we saw Vishal’s parents crying, I felt bad. I never thought he would disrespect a girl. But when I came out, I saw what he had done was extremely wrong. Now he doesn’t deserve to be on the show according to me.”
Commenting on her remark for Sai Ketan Rao, Chandrika defended herself saying, “When there are so many girls in that house, I would want them to massage my back because I knew that this would have created trouble for me outside. My husband would be told that his wife is taking a massage from another man. I know where to draw a line. I was also very careful with the clothes I wore on the show because my in-laws were watching. So I had my boundaries.”

Giving her take on Armaan Malik’s polygamous relationship, Chandrika shared, “When it comes to personal life, I will never want anyone to get into my family life or come between me and my husband. I know how I got married, and how Yash accepted me, so I will not comment on their marriage, it’s their choice. I am no one to judge if it is right or wrong.”
Chandrika’s journey on the show has ended, but she wants to progress in life. The Vada Pav girl aspires to build her own home, get her sister-in-law married, and also make sure that her mother doesn’t have to work anymore. But now that she is a celebrity, would she go back to selling vada pavs at a stall? Responding to this, Chandrika says, “Selling vada pav became my identity, it’s my existence. When I was thrown out of jobs, this became my identity. So I will continue to do that, but I will progress now.”

As she goes back to Delhi as a changed person, she shares a few lessons the show has taught her. “I was so busy with my work, that I never gave time to my loved ones, I want to do that now. I now respect food a lot more, after having that moringa soup. I recalled how my husband roamed behind me holding the plate, but I wouldn’t eat. Now I won’t do that. Lastly, people have instigated me a lot to fight, but I have learned to be myself,” Chandrika says as she signs off.
