Bigg Boss 18 winner Karanveer Mehra recently recalled how late actor Sushant Singh Rajput had a major role to play in his career. During an interview, Karanveer shared how the actor helped him battle alcoholism and connected him to the right people in the industry.
In an interview with The Times of India, Karanveer, who shared screen space with Sushant Singh Rajput in Pavitra Rishta, reflected on his deep bond with the late actor. He described meeting Sushant as a turning point in his life, recalling how Sushant would often tell him he was more talented.
Karanveer also opened up about a difficult phase after Pavitra Rishta when he met with an accident and spiraled into alcoholism. It was Sushant who supported him and helped him overcome his struggles. Additionally, Karanveer shared how Sushant always guided him in making the right industry connections, even introducing him to renowned casting director Mukesh Chhabra.
Karanveer Mehra further admitted to feeling guilty for not being there for Sushant Singh Rajput when he needed a friend the most. He revealed that towards the end, they had lost touch as Sushant chose to distance himself for personal reasons. The Bigg Boss 18 winner recalled his initial disbelief upon hearing the news of Sushant’s passing, saying he was in shock and remained silent for four to five hours. The actor shared that he has not yet fully come to terms with the loss of his dear friend.
On the work front, Karanveer is yet to sign another project after Bigg Boss 18.
