Before entering Bigg Boss 17, Isha Malviya said she never dated Abhishek Kumar: ‘We shared a close friendship’

On the premiere night of Bigg Boss 17, fans were in for a shock to see actors Isha Malviya and Abhishek Kumar accusing each other to be the reason of their failed relationship. While Isha accused him of assaulting her, Abhishek mentioned how she would also attack her. He also claimed that they were very young back then, which led to issues cropping up between them. As things heated up, host Salman Khan had to step in, and he sent them off to the house where the two seem to share a blow-hot-blow-cold relationship.

Interestingly, before entering the house, Isha had admitted that she never dated Abhishek and they were just close friends. She told indianexpress.com, “I don’t know if he’s going to be there and I am not bothered about it. There were rumours about us dating but we have always shared a close friendship bond. It would be fun to have him around but he was never my boyfriend. We haven’t even been in touch for a long time.”

When asked about participating in Bigg Boss, the actor said that the idea of reflecting her real personality in front of the world really ‘interested’ her. She added that today, the show plays an important part in an actor’s life. “I understand everyone has a different perspective. There were many people who said this was not the right time for me to do the show. But I believe if you are getting the opportunity to be in the limelight and get amazing exposure, why not?” Isha said.

Isha Malviya made her debut with TV show Udaariyaan. Her co-stars Priyanka Chahar Choudhary and Ankit Gupta were part of the show last year, with the former even emerging as a finalist. When asked if seeing her popularity made her take up the show, the 20-year-old said, “A bit yes. But then we are both very different personalities. I cannot ape her but yes, she had an amazing journey. I was actually inspired by how Priyanka conducted herself in the show.” As for gaining tips from her former co-stars, Isha said that since they are now just friends, she did not ask for advice but they did tell her to have fun.

The actor was recently seen doing rounds of designers shopping for her stint on the show. When asked about the same, she laughed that she is hoping to emerge as a fashion icon this season. Isha added that not just her but her mother also wanted to make sure she had the best of outfits to make an impact.

Talking about Salman Khan, Isha Malviya said that she has watched all the episodes of Weekend Ka Vaar and is actually ‘scared’ of Salman Khan. She added that she hopes he likes her as a person and helps her play the game better. On a final note, the actor added that while she is confident, she will not claim to be a ‘winner material’. However, Isha said that she wants the world to see how a 19-20-year-old is mature enough to take her own decisions.
