Barkha Bisht revists break-up with Karan Singh Grover, says they grew into ‘different people’: ‘It was my first heartbreak’

Actor Barkha Bisht opened up about her personal life, recalling how her relationship of almost two years ended with actor Karan Singh Grover.

Actress Barkha Bisht, known for her popular roles on Indian television, recently opened up about her personal life during a conversation with Siddharth Kannan. While Barkha spoke about ex-husband Indraneil Gupta cheating on her, she also revealed her past affair with Karan Singh Grover. Barkha and Karan worked together in a teen drama called Kitni Mast Hai Zindagi in 2004. She also recalled how they dated each other for nearly two years before their perspectives on life started changing.

Barkha recalled, “We dated for two years. Karan has an inherent kindness, which I got attracted to because people in Mumbai are not always kind. So, whenever I find kindness, I get attracted to it. He is very good-looking—six-pack abs, I mean, I was just 23 years old! Over the years, we grew into different people. It was my first heartbreak in Mumbai.”

Further talking about their breakup, Barkha added, “Nothing went wrong; our perspectives and views on life were different. He was also two years younger than me. As we grew older over those two years, that difference became more apparent—that was the problem. I am still very fond of him even today, and I wish him the best wherever he is.”

Barkha even spoke about her take on infidelity as she revisited being cheated by her ex-husband Indraneil Sengupta. “I was among those women who would say that I would walk out of a marriage if I were cheated on, but when it actually happens to you, you realise it is easier said than done. I have no shame in saying that I would have forgiven Indraneil, and I even tried to save my marriage for two years after that. Indraneil made a choice—maybe he can justify it now. He can give you a hundred reasons why this marriage broke, but his actions are not on me. He has to justify them.”

While Karan Singh Grover is happily married to actress Bipasha Basu and also has a daughter named Devi, Barkha was married to Indraneil for 14 years. In 2022, the couple got separated. They have a 13-year-old daughter, Meira.
