Anusha Dandekar says her male co-hosts would get more air time, ‘double’ her salary: ‘When I put my foot down, he stormed off’
Anusha Dandekar said that she had to finally put her foot down to get equal air time and when she did that, her male co-host stormed off the set.

Anusha Dandekar, who started her career as a VJ on MTV, recently shared that the pay disparity between men and women in the anchoring world is massive. Anusha said that her male co-hosts would get double the salary and even get more air time.
Anusha, in a chat with Hauterrfly, said, “My co-host doing the same job, the same hours, the same amount of styling changes, everything, was getting paid double than me.” She added, “It was like we’re doing the same job and then when you’d see the footage, you keep more of his role in it than mine.” Anusha said that when she put her foot down and asked for equal air time, her male co-host stormed off.
“When I put my foot down and said ‘hey, listen if I am the co-host, then keep us equal in the camera,’ he stormed off. And I was like, ‘I just got fair air time, I didn’t storm off in the first three seasons,'” she said.
Anusha Dandekar hosted many shows for MTV which included House of Style, Love School, Dance Crew, Teen Diva. She was also one of the judges on India’s Next Top Model, which aired on the channel.
Anusha was recently seen covering the red carpet for the grand opening of NMACC. One of the videos that went viral from the event had Anusha trying to interview Suhana Khan but her mother Gauri Khan promptly interrupted the interview. When trolls attacked Anusha for trying to get a byte from Suhana, she took to Instagram and shared a message for the “haters”.
She wrote, “The constant controversy you are trying to create just because you want to be haters and just because you are so called fans of people who weren’t at this event, you want to make sure I somehow come out looking bad, well sorry I can’t be part of your plan. Some people don’t like to give interviews and never have and that’s totally okay. And some have to wait for their release till they do any interviews. THE END. I think I did a great job and I’m really good at what I do…but no one’s stopping you to try my job if you have so many opinions. I wish you happiness, so you will finally stop being bullies.”
