Aditya Roy Kapur says he told his former teacher that he’s now a night manager as acting career didn’t take off: ‘Sadly she believed me’
Aditya Roy Kapur joked about his acting career during his appearance on The Kapil Sharma Show finale episode. He was joined by Anil Kapoor, Shobhita Dhulipala and Tillotama Shome.

Aditya Roy Kapur may be in the news for reportedly dating Ananya Panday but he recently also gave one of his best performances with The Night Manager. The actor, while promoting the Hotstar show, even took up the responsibility of a manager in one of Mumbai’s luxurious hotels, much to the delight of his fans. During his appearance on The Kapil Sharma Show, Aditya spoke about his experience and also shared how one of his former teachers believed that he had become a manager as his career as an actor did not work out.
In the episode summary video shared by Sony TV, Kapil Sharma asked Aditya about working as a real night manager during the promotions. He also quizzed whether people were happy to see him or if someone got angered over the prank. “Some didn’t even recognise me. I helped a couple of people check in and also made their new cards. I also did it diligently, reaching the hotel two hours prior and learning how to do it,” Aditya replied.
He then went on to share about his encounter with his ex-teacher that left everyone in splits. “I met her and she asked me about what I was doing. I told her that acting was not working out, so I needed a backup,” he shared, and then added after a pause, “Sadly, she believed me also.”
The Kapil Sharma Show aired its finale episode on Sunday with The Night Manager cast – Anil Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapur, Shbhita Dhulipala and Tillotama Shome as guests.
In another instance in the episode, Anil Kapoor stole the show with his one-liner, especially when he was asked about fights on the road. Kapil Sharma asked Anil if, like everyone else, he also parks his car sometime and watches a fight happening on the road. “Kabhi aapne aisa kiya hai, ki aap sadak par ja rahe ho, kisi ka jhagda ho raha hai. To aapne gaadi band kar ke bola hai ki chalo thodi der dekh ke chalta hun (Has it ever happened that you are going somewhere by road and you see two people fight on the road and think to yourself, ‘let me watch this for a while and then I will continue)?”
To this Anil said, “Nahi aisa nahi kiya. Main ghus jaata hun (No, I have never done that. I join the fight).” The actor’s response left everyone in the audience and cast in splits.
The Kapil Sharma Show will be replaced by India’s Got Talent from July 29.
