Karthi’s Theeran Adhigaram Ondru teaser is out

It was expected that actor Karthi’s upcoming cop film Theeran Adhigaram Ondru (Khakee in Telugu) will open in theatres in September during the pooja holidays. But, the filmmakers want us to be satisfied with just a teaser. The one-minute teaser trailer shows us Karthi’s character Theeran Thirumaran in his uniform rising from the sands in a desert, where he had been buried alive. It also reveals that the film revolves around a murder investigation, presumably led by Theeran.

It is not an easy case. The perpetrators have not left any clue except for fingerprints. How Theeran will beat the odds and catch the culprits will, indeed, be thrilling to watch. The film is based on true events that took place in North India, which is also the backdrop of Theeran Adhigaram Ondru.

The film is directed by H Vinod, who is known for Sathuranga Vettai that came out in 2014. A newspaper article published in 2005 inspired Vinod to write this film and he has reportedly tried to keep the story and the characters as realistic as possible. He had interviewed several real police officers and had gathered a lot of information on a serious crime for this film.

While Rakul Preet plays the female lead, Abhimanyu Singh will be the prime antagonist. Marathi poet and actor Kishore Kadam will make her debut in Tamil with this film and she is said to be playing a very important role. SR Prabhu of Dream Warrior Pictures, who also bankrolled Karthi’s Kaashmora, has produced Theeran Adhigaram Ondru. And Ghibran has composed the music.

This will be Karthi’s second release this year. His most-awaited film Kaatru Veliyidai released in April to a polarising response from the media and fans. The extended trailer of Theeran Adhigaram Ondru will be released on October 17, while the film will hit the screens on November 17.

Uttarkashi flash floods: Over 60, including several soldiers, missing

Several casualties are feared as flash floods and a massive debris slide swept away hotels, shops, and restaurants in Dharali village of Uttarkashi on Tuesday. Earlier in the day, the District Magistrate had confirmed four casualties. An Armed Forces camp in the lower Harsil area was also struck by a flash flood soon after, with officials saying around 10 soldiers are reported missing.
