Siddharth poses in bed with awards for Chittha in ‘life partner’ Aditi Rao Hydari’s appreciation post: ‘We all win’

In the recently conducted Filmfare Awards South 2024, it was a big day for the Tamil film, Chithha. Winning seven top awards, Chithha was one of the most celebrated films in the awards show. Siddharth, who backed the sensitive and successful film directed by SU Arunkumar, took home the Best Film and Best Actor (Critics’) prizes. In fact, this was the first time the actor was winning this award for a Tamil film. Sharing a picture of Siddharth holding the two awards, actor Aditi Rao Hydari, who got engaged to the former earlier this year, wrote a heartfelt note about this recognition to her fiancé. 

Aditi wrote, “2=7! 7 for Chithha at Filmfare, 2024. Congratulations to the team! When artistry is rewarded, when good people win, when good cinema wins, we all win!” What made the note even more special was her warm words that established the 23-year-journey of Siddharth in cinema. “More power to you, to your hard work, your determination to tell stories from the heart, more power to push for craft, to work against all the odds with a childlike joy! Keep creating, keep dreaming, may the little cinema boy in you always be brimming with ideas and excitement with the utmost curiosity and honesty. To your very own own ‘cinema Paradiso’ legacy. You learnt from the best and here you are… simply and effortlessly the bestest,” said the Heeramandi actor.

Before winning the Best Actor nod for Chithha, Siddharth had won the award for Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana (2005). In fact, he referenced this win in his acceptance speech, and said, “I was sitting in front of the stage hoping I don’t have to wait for 18 more years to hold the award in my hand again. Chithha is a very special film. It is my company, Etaki Entertainment Private Limited’s first Best Film Award. It means everything.” The actor went on to thank his life partner Aditi in the winning speech. “I have to thank my mother, my sister, and my life partner because they gave me this strength, understanding, and courage to make this film.”  

Apart from the two awards for Siddharth, Chithha won the top prizes for Best Actress (Nimisha Sajayan), Best Music Album (Dhibu Ninan Thomas and Santhosh Narayanan), Best Female Singer (Karthika Vaidyanathan for Kangal Edho), Best Director (SU Arun Kumar), and Best Supporting Actress (Anjali Nair).

Siddharth, who was recently seen in Indian 2, has an interesting lineup of films, including Indian 3, Miss You, Test, and Siddharth 40, which will be helmed by director Sri Ganesh.
